Cycle 5, Episode 2: "The Girl Who Needs A Miracle"
Following their first elimination, the models find out they’re heading to get makeovers. Cassandra’s is expecting for her split ends to be cut off. Mwahaha…
Tyra and Mr. Jay are at the Louis Licari salon. Louis is dressed as a contractor for the federal government.
Most of the hair assignments are variations of their existing looks. But Tyra tells Cassandra she is cutting all her hair off to look like Mia Farrow in Rosemary’s Baby. It’s such an iconic haircut.
Cassandra instantly cries.
Mr. Jay assigns everyone a style for their new look and he does Bre dirty by calling her “ghetto fabulous”.
Her makeover turns out well though.
Nicole looks the same.
Lisa got the Kate Gosselin.
Sarah just got a bob.
Kim looks pretty much the same although they apparently dyed her hair red.
Jayla looks like a porn star.
Diane’s hair is terrible.
The color is kind of all over the place and reminds me of girls circa 2005-2007 who would get blonde and red streaks in their hair. I called it “salsa con queso”.
Coryn’s is one of the best makeovers. It’s a bit dated, but she looks like she could be a Cheetah Girl.
Kyle got brown hair.
Nik’s before photo does not look like her at all, but the makeover is giving.
It took 13 hours for Ebony to get these braids. I think they look good, but how versatile are they for a model?
Cassandra looks so gewd with short blonde hair, but let’s go shorter!
Following their makeovers, the models meet with James St. James for a shopping challenge. They each get $500 to buy an outfit that shows off their new personal style.
Cassandra thinks she looks mod lol.
Lisa wins and gets to keep her outfit. So the other thousands of dollars worth of clothes just goes to the wardrobe department now?
The photoshoot this week is at a random horse stable. The models are paired up and each duo has to model the same outfit, setting up a competition and body comparison!
Craig the photographer looks like he wears Tommy Bahama flip flops.
There are no silly challenges at panel this week (thankfully), so we go straight to the photos.
Coryn and Sarah both look great with the horse. I don’t love the bath poofs at the bottom of the dress.
Kim and Kyle are boring. Also, can we get some lighting on set?
Cassandra and Jayla serve although the judges harp on Big C for still seeming too pageant.
Ebony’s photo is horrible while Lisa’s is fine. What is this outfit??
Diane looks like she’s going to a casual, comfy Renaissance faire while Nicole looks like a model. I think Mr. Jay gave Diane bad direction during the shoot, telling her to leap and shit.
Bre and Nik also give, but I think Bre’s outfit and lighting are too dark.
The best for me are:
Diane and Ebony wind up in the bottom two. Ebony goes home.
After getting eliminated, she did try to break into modeling. I would like this photo to be explained please.
All of us desperate model wannabes have gone to some random guy’s garage to let him put wrapping paper on our coochies and write “HANDSOME” on our body but Miss Ebony, what is the story?
Ebony realized pageants were her thing too (sorry Cassandra) and she competed in Miss California.
Now she’s married with three kids and lives in Paris - what??
