Cycle 3, Episode 11: "The Girl the Lionesses Are Hunting"
I’m skipping Episode 10 because it was just a recap of the season so far.
The models get a Tyra Mail to pack their bags. They’re moving out of the capsule hotel!
After last week’s fight over nothing, Ann says she now knows Eva’s true colors.
The models drop their bags off at the new nice hotel then go to a lesson on how to conduct a Japanese tea ceremony.
Norelle says she doesn’t eat Japanese food.
Yaya, on the other hand, prides herself on her worldliness.
Skkkkrt! what?
Tyra told you to go eat the biggest slice of humble pie last week.
Amanda can’t stop crying at how beautiful an experience the tea ceremony is. This could be the last time she gets to experience this!
The next day the models meet with the same tea ceremony instructor Yoko.
They will be judged on the skills they learned the day before in front of a group of “tea ceremony experts”.
This woman though.
Once again … Yaya wins the challenge. She and Amanda go to some hot springs for their prize.
That night, the models go out on the town in Tokyo taking photos with their disposable cameras.
Tyra meets them out so they can have deep heart-to-hearts. AGAIN Ann brings up how she doesn’t know who people really are (hint hint: Eva). After Tyra leaves, Ann recaps the (non)fight from last week’s commercial where Eva said she wants someone to do worse than her and go home. Yaya piles on Eva, saying Eva’s not as real as she claims she is.
This appears to be an argument because of Ann’s insecurity. She spends all of her energy not into her winning or protecting Norelle but focused on Eva going home. She then gets called out for bringing up Norelle’s “flaws”.
The photoshoot this week is for T-Mobile. Tyra’s there to do her own photoshoot and then coach the models.
Tyra walks them through everything she’s doing and why. It’s way more teaching than just saying why she doesn’t like a photo (which is what the judges do every week).
Lol at the flip phone they’re using.

Tyra’s photo from the shoot looks great.
At panel, this week’s guest judge is Kyoko Higa, a designer who was “secretly” watching their tea ceremony challenge earlier.
I think Eva has the best overall photo.
Amanda’s photo shows off the kimono but overall isn’t great.
Same for Norelle
Ann’s isn’t well lit.
And Yaya has the worst photo this week.
This judging appears to be based on previous performances and not this week’s photos. Yaya’s not even in the bottom two. Despite never taking a good photo, Ann sneaks by yet again. And Norelle (big midsection and all) is sent back to the U.S.
After the show, Norelle did go on to model a little bit in (you guessed it) Japan.
But lately it seems like she’s a married mom of three who LOVES taking family photos.
Go off, Norelle!
