Cycle 5, Episode 10: "The Girl Who Retaliates"
Everyone is surprised Lisa was eliminated last week despite certain people (Kim) calling her ugly, old and an alcoholic.
The models get a Tyra Mail that says they will “find out the pecking order”. Many of the models don’t know what “pecking order” means.
Their challenge is to pose like statues in Regent’s Park while pigeons land on them.
Nicole cries because why not.
I can see why Nicole is getting on Bre’s nerves again.
Nik wins the posing-with-birds challenge, her first, and gets a $15,000 shopping spree at Harrods. She takes Bre and Jayla who each get some money too.
Bre, hanging out in a robe and panties, discovers that some of her granola bars are missing.
She assumes it was Nicole, so in retaliation, she pours Nicole’s unmarked energy drinks down the drain. They’re clearly Red Bulls.
Nicole then gets worked up because she’s missing two cans of Red Bull. The drama!
The theme for this week’s photoshoot is modern interpretations of classical artwork. It’s an ad for Olay and is shot by photographer Barry Lategan, who took the iconic photos of Twiggy that put her on the map.
Kim can’t keep her mouth shut about Bre, Nicole and the granola bars/energy drinks. She’s not involved but tells everyone on set, including Mr. Jay. Kim has also obviously gotten some spray tan because she is caramelized!
Nicole confronts Bre at the shoot, and it turns into a showdown of she said-she said. By process of elimination, Bre has convinced herself that Nicole stole her granola bars. And Nicole knows Bre took her Red Bulls and wants her to replace them. Bre refuses to do that.
Plot twist: Lisa, who looks great in this interview, was the one who ate the granola bars before she left London.
Their dumb challenge at panel is holding a pose for a minute while the judges lose their minds.
Tyra brings up Bre’s behavior from the photoshoot and they get into it. Bre is dragged for being juvenile and vindictive.
It’s a shame because she has the most beautiful photo this week as the Mona Lisa. It’s by far the best of her in the competition.
Nik is the the Vitruvian Man and looks great as usual.
Nicole is the Girl with the Pearl Earring. Solid but too much photoshop.
Jayla is Whistler’s Mother. It doesn’t do anything for me.
And Kim is the Birth of Venus a.k.a. Polly Pocket.
Stunning.
After judging, Bre is not having it and comes hard for Kim because she inserted herself in the showdown with Nicole.
I don’t know what algorithm Bre used to calculate her 96% chance of going home.
Kim and Bre end up in the bottom two for the drama. I think Jayla should have gone home because she’s just had blah pictures. Bre is saved (that 4%) and gets super emotional.
Poor Kim got strong-armed out of the competition. It seems unfair with how she was doing at the end and how the judges built her up. She was a very memorable contestant and I love how she was an unapologetic lesbian. But she loved to talk smack.
After the show, Kim went on to do a lot. She did some modeling and on-air presenting work.
I think she looks great with longer hair.
She also appears to have gotten married twice. The first wedding received lots of media attention. The second I just see on Instagram. She’s somehow made the transition to working at Bank of America, and this photo does her dirty.
But Kim seems happy with life and her baby.
